Keynote Speaker, 7pm, Thursday Sep 14, Longview Center Sanctuary
TOPIC: Creative thinking is about seeing what is there, not what is not there. I will talk about how creative thinking helped me to navigate my personal and professional life at every turn.
PING'S TAKE ON THE TRIANGLE: The Triangle is unique in its creativities, a blend of art, science, engineering, entrepreneurship and transports. This blend paints a rich picture on the evergreen caves of the landscape. When I first arrived in the Triangle, I thought that this place was boring. What surprised me in my research is that the university students, out-of-state or in-state, all want to stay here if they can find suitable jobs. People who live here are happy. I thought: there is something here that does not meet the eye at the first glance. I am delighted today that I stopped and looked deeper rather than drawing a conclusion at first sight. The Triangle creativity is subtle, not in your face like New York City, but the after-taste is lasting.
Since being named Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine, Ping has been busy growing the business of Geomagic, Inc. Geomagic recently opened a subsidiary in China, and sales offices in Japan and the UK, further expanding its global presence. Ping is also working on a personal memoir, which will recount her growing up in China, her exile to the United States and the key life experiences that led her to the creation of Geomagic and the DSSP market.
